What Are You Thankful For?

Dear Friends of FAACT,

What are you thankful for this year? I am thankful for all of you – my food allergy and anaphylaxis family, as well as FAACT’s team. We are all affected by and personally connected to food allergies. You all helped make the Food Allergy & Anaphylaxis Connection Team (FAACT) a success. Now I am asking for your help to continue our mission.

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to FAACT before the end of the year. With your support, we can continue to offer not just hope but real results for people living with food allergies and life-threatening anaphylaxis.

One of FAACT’s unique services is direct assistance with civil rights issues at school. Amelia, our General Counsel and Vice President of Civil Rights Advocacy, addresses individual problems and concerns – free of charge. So far this year, we have helped more than 100 families keep their children safe and equally included at school.

FAACT offers many services for children, teens, and parents affected by life-threatening allergies. At our fourth annual Camp TAG (The Allergy Gang), a summer camp for children with food allergies and their siblings, we hosted 50 campers from 14 states for a week of education, safety, and fun! We co-hosted Anaphylaxis & Support Group Leadership Summits in Anaheim, Atlanta, Denver, and Philadelphia to build collaborative communities that share a passion for raising anaphylaxis awareness and preparedness. Our Inaugural Teen Conference in Chicago was a huge success, with attendees representing 12 states. FAACT continues to educate staff at schools, restaurants, theme parks, camps, and other places across the country that serve children and adults with food allergies. We are also helping develop support groups across the nation for our community.

This year, FAACT sponsored 10 educational events with food-allergy musician and educator Kyle Dine. We also sponsored the Food Allergy Bloggers Conference in Las Vegas and gave free registrations to10 FAACT patrons to ensure our community could fully benefit from the event.

There were so many more successes this year, and we are excited about the programs and initiatives we have planned for 2015. But we need your support to make them happen.
