Whole Foods Market's Southwest Region Recalls Cherry, Blackberry and Peach Pies in Four Stores Due to Undeclared Egg

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – July 2, 2015 – Austin, TX – Whole Foods Market is recalling Cherry, Blackberry and Peach pies produced and sold in four retail stores in the Southwest Region, which includes TX, OK, LA, and due to undeclared egg. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

The product was sold in whole pies, half pies and slices, packaged in boxes and clear plastic containers, with the following PLUs: 22203700000, 24919900000, 24901100000, 24912200000, 22197400000, 22202000000, 24189800000, 24189900000, 24190200000 with best by dates of 6/26/15 to 7/3/15.

The pies, half pies and slices may contain egg as an ingredient, which was not declared on the label.

No allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported to date. Signage is posted to notify customers of this recall, and all affected product has been removed from shelves.

The error was discovered during routine product review and found to be incorrect in the following four stores only:

Oklahoma City - 6001 N Western Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73118
Lamar - 525 N Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78703
Arabella Station - 5600 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115
Champions - 10133 Louetta Rd, Houston, TX 77070

Consumers who have purchased this product from any Whole Foods Market Southwest stores in TX and OK are encouraged to discard the product and to bring their receipt to the store for a full refund. Consumers with questions should contact their local store between the hours of 9am and 5pm CST any day of the week.
